Why are some bricks different colors?
This weeks weekly wonder comes to us from Mrs. Wideen's friends. Please leave your thoughts below and check back later to see what others are saying! Last weeks conversation was AMAZING!
Thank you @wonderphilips for pointing out the great connection  our wonder and the wonder on week 2 of Camp Wonder-A- Lot http://wonderopolis.org/camp/. Friends you will love this link-especially Alex!

First some people use soil and make the shape of the brick. Then they bake them. When bricks are over baked they are darker when they are not done completely then They have a lighter color I think.

This is a great Wonder. It goes perfectly with the Camp What-A-Wonder theme today about houses.

Our house is made out of bricks and there are many different variations of colors on the bricks. I wonder if bricks are different colors because they look better on houses when their are variations of colors.

Happy wondering!

Maybe they use different materials to make the bricks different colours. Olivia
Maybe they paint them. Tyler
Do they put paint in the mixture when they are making the bricks?
