You might remember our friend Olivia shared her thinking about the book Tea Party Rules with the author Ame Dyckman via twitter.
WELL, Thursday we got a package from Ame Dyckman! She sent book marks, stickers, buttons and a cookie from the book! She even sent extra for the school library!
It's so cool to talk to authors on twitter, but Ame Dyckman said she will SKYPE with us!
We are busy reading her other book Boy + Bot & her blog Ame Dyckman to learn more about her so we can be ready for our Skype visit!

Mrs. Frazier added more non-fiction books to our room. Most of the books are about insects and small animals that live in Ohio. We LOVE these new books! On top of the shelf there's a tank that says Coming Soon... we are dying to know what's coming and when it's going to get here.
What are you wondering about what's coming to our tank? Leave us a comment to tell us!

This week we have been meeting some new friends by reading their blog and leaving them a few comments. Our new friends are in Mrs. Mortensen's class. They live and go to school in Hong Kong!
Here's what we have learned about our new friends-
  • They're 1st graders like us
  • They wear uniforms
  • They're learning about night and day and weather around the globe.
  • We got to HEAR some Danish words!
  • They dressed up for Halloween too!
Use the link above to visit our new friends in Hong Kong. (the password is in your email)

We have a Twitter board! We each have a globe with our twitter handle and our avatar. We can write down what ever we want to share with the world on our Globes! Mrs. Frazier tweets our ideas for us. You can see and follow our tweets in the side bar of this blog, or you can visit our twitter page here.

Wow- you guys have been very busy communicating all over the world!
How awesome of Amy Dyckman to send you a goodie bag. We are going to look for her books on our next trip to the library.
The Olsavsky Family is very curious as to what is coming soon to the tank on your bookshelf. Below are our guesses. What do you think is coming?
Chase- hamster
Reagan- frog
Mom- lizard
