WOW! All I can say is WOW! This is our third Celebrate this week post and I continued to be amazed by all the celebrations we could write about! I mean after all when you are hard working eager to learn 6 and 7 year olds everyday is a new adventure and celebration! This weeks celebrations are again too amazing to pick only one. SO we are sharing our top 5!

  • Aidan got a writing idea from author Linda Stanek when she visited our school Thursday.

  • We got to see a 2-toed sloth, a penguin, an Amur leopard and a bearcat when the local zoo visited our school! (Did you know there are only 200 Amur leopards in the world and only 3 living in wild?)

  • Josiah is learning to find the authors message in the books he reads. (We are all working on this but, Josiah really feels he's beginning to get it!)

  • Mr. Giacomelli complimented our class 2 days in row for earning 2 full notes! (Mr. Giacomelli said earning even a half note is hard and we got 2 full notes in 2 days!)

  • Olivia shared her thinking on Tea Party Rules by Ame Dyckman on twitter and Ame Dyckman tweeted us back! You can see Olivia's thinking below and our tweets!

To honor and celebrate our journey we are joining the Celebration Link-Up with Ruth Ayers. Each week Mrs. Ayers will host a Celebration Link-Up on her web site Discover, Play, Build.
This week it was too hard to pick just one celebration because we had such a great week!
So this week we are celebrating many-
  • We met new blogging friends, Mrs. van der Veen's Bobcats in Ontario Canada. You can see all our connections on our Scribble map.
  • We were all cozied up in our books in reader's workshop and in our math workshop.
  • In math workshop we used working voices.
  • We learned to not be interrupting chickens. (Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein)
  • We were our best self in the hall way.
  • We used iPads and lap tops to talk about our reading and to show our math.
  • All together we walked 429 laps in the Walk-a-Thon. We were so sweaty.
  • We read the Spooky Box and we commented on the book in VoiceThread.
  • We had a fantastic week!
