Week 2~ 8/26/16

Our Treasure Chest of Books!

Our first five day week and we did it, we survived! I have to thank you for your part in making this year start off so smoothly. Your effort in teaching the lunch routine and finding numbered coat hooks has paid off! The kids come right in, hang up book bags, make a lunch choice, visit the bathroom and then start reading! 

TidBits to know:

• Our newest  weekly celebrations is up on our tab, Celebrate Weekly. Please visit and comment to the kids, they will LOVE IT! Did you see we had a comment all the way from ESTONIA last week? Look for the kids to bring home celebration papers today!

• Our Special Schedule is A day- Music, B day Art, and, C day Gym. Tennis shoes are required for gym days. 

• Next week we have gym two days, Monday and Thursday. 

• Monday C, Tuesday A, Wednesday B , Thursday C, Friday A.

• We had our next town hall meeting September 8th 

• If you haven't sent in your family photos please do so soon. Please send digitally if possible, if you're sending a photo please make it  3x5 or 4x6.

• We shared our books today, check out our VoiceThread! Sorry, we forgot to pack them up! they will be home Monday.

• Starting this, this weekend! I like to call each family in the early weeks of school to get to know you and your child better. The connection between student/teacher and parent/teacher relationships and success in school is real. Please don't be alarmed when I call you. (My cell ends in 9657, if you see this on your phone, I am not a political caller, haha)

• Make sure your signed up for the Darby Creek Enews, this is where you will find dates for family events, PTO events, the special area teachers and MUCH MORE! 

• We are looking for parent volunteers to help supervise students working independently in our Makerspace. Contact Cindy Teske ([email protected]) if you are interested.

• Did you know that Hilliard City Schools will have a levy on the ballot in November? Plan to attend the DCR Community Information event on September 29th at 7:30pm to educate yourself about all the details.
