Dear Moms,
Today we learned about Anna Jervis, who started Mother's Day.  Unfortunately, Mothers Day quickly became over commercialized and strayed off the track of Anna Jervis' intention.
So today we tackled the true meaning of Mother's Day Anna Jervis style, a gift to you from the heart of your first grader.  We opened our writing workshop up to makers writing space. We discussed all our digital and non-digital possibilities, and the meshing of the two- a "Digi-smash!"
I pulled out the yarn, ribbon, new paper choices, mini clips, notebook rings, markers, QR codes, envelopes, video tools, screen casting, silly scissors and a hole punch. (We only have ONE whole punch, If you'd like to donate a hole punch or two we would LOVE IT!).  Our room was all a fuss in creating for YOU!
I learned so much about your kids today, and we all had a blast!  Braedon created such a unique gift for his mom that he was taking orders by the end of the day!
So when you receive your gift, remember it was made just for you and from the heart of your first grader!
Happy Mothers Day!
