We are trying something new. We are putting our books on VoiceThread instead of Padlet. We have been having some trouble with Padlet so we want to se if VoiceThread is easier. We went to the Town Hall meeting on Veterans day and saw the veterans. They announced their names and told us what branch they were in. There were a lot of veterans. The veterans were very nice of course. There were so many flags in front of the stage. It was very long We got a new table and chairs and it is comfortable. We moved out the island and a table to make it fit nicely. WE (the kids) moved the chairs, tables and, other furniture. We made more space. Miyu is eating lunch in the cafeteria and staying at school ALL DAY!
We have a BUNCH of new books in our classroom! WE are happy because we love books and they are interesting. If we have more books we can read more books! We celebrate that we love reading and writing!!! We have learned to not let our pencils stop when we are writing! We get more ideas and write more when our pencils don't stop. We have learned to be the power of team! You are always a winner when you work as team even if you don't get candy from Mr. G. We learned that we be respectful in our class so we can be power of the team! When we work as a team we work better and can figure out what we are doing.

Science- We have mealworms. We are learning about how they grow. We are wondering if they are eating when they are a pupa (turning into a beetle). Reading- We are reading many different versions of the story of The Three Bears. This is helping us think about books we can read my ourselves, books I can read with another reader, and books someone will read to me. Together we read the Hungry Giant's Soup by Joy Cowley , and we learned about reading voices and the characters voices. When characters are talking, we make our voices high or low. We know when they are talking because we see quotation marks. Writing- We are making a lot of great stories, and we are learning to us mentor authors. We can write like Dan Yaccarino, Ame Dyckman, and other friends in our class. We are learning to spell new words by using our linking charts and parts of words we know like wow and cow and now. We Celebrate Great Things!
This weeks photo credits go to Zack! We welcomed a new friend this week. She is a great friend to us all!
Each day is a step in becoming who we will be. Learning is in the process, and not one step is more or less important than the one before or after. Becoming learners who believe in themselves and who are willing to take the risks necessary to grow takes deliberate patience and recognition. Enable our early learners to continue on this journey, honor all the steps on the way. To honor and celebrate our journey we are joining the Celebration Link-Up with Ruth Ayers. Each week Mrs. Ayers will host a Celebration Link-Up on her web site Discover, Play, Build. Thank you Ruth for this place of celebration!
